Those are lyrics from "Hair", a song by Lady Gaga. Whether 4 years old or 104 years young, that statement applies to everyone. If you haven't tapped into who you are or you're struggling to fit-in somewhere in the world, keep that message in mind. Write it down on a post-it note and stick it on your mirror, recite it at the inkling of self-doubt. You might realize it's not about fitting into anything, it's about celebrating individuality and owning your greatness. Some of the greatest people in history, the ones that had anything of significance to say, made careers out of being different. ‎

Hair statements, whether subtle or spectacular, have always appeared in pop-culture. Shingai Shoniwa, lead singer of the Noisettes rocks a heart shaped afro at a time when natural or afro-textured hair isn't considered mainstream. Anderson Cooper "went gray" on camera, literally #PosterBoy #SilverFox. Frida Kahlo put flowers in her hair and kept a unibrow, como se dice "iconic image"?

"Hair", in Lady Gaga's song and in the title of my blog represents freedom and creativity. Take the message and change the word "hair" to something relevant to your journey: "I don't wanna change, and I don't wanna be ashamed. I'm the spirit of my ____, it's all the glory that I bare. I am my ____!".

Not everyone understands this message though. Lady Gaga performed Hair on Friday in tribute to Jamey Rodemeyer, a young boy who died last weekend after being bullied to death in school, because of his sexuality. Gaga makes a profound point in her performance when she says to Jayme, "You're not a victim, you're a lesson to all of us". Use your voice to spread a positive message and help stop bullying. New Season, New Look

It's the last day of summer, the start of a new season. Taking a page from Cher's book, the time has come to reinvent this blog. My Hair is Luxurious dons a new look and streamlined content, it's a lifestyle blog serving as your guide to pop-culture. More specifically, an Angeleno's perspective on Music, Film, TV, Food, Fashion, Nightlife, and a healthy dose of LGBT-ness.

At it's core, MHiL has always been a lifestyle blog about pop-culture. When I started writing it 3 years ago, I called it a "personal blog", but the reality is I wasn't sure what I'd be writing about. Over time I found myself writing about the things that piqued my interested. But that hasn't changed, I've found my voice, I think that's the big difference. I took a hiatus from posting on MHiL when Facebook and Twitter morphed into what they are today, but sometimes more than 140 characters is necessary to articulate a thought, or the flexibility of using more than one image or one link. So there you have it. Look for me as you peruse through your reader.

Three months ago, I helped my friend, Chandler move into his new place, and to show his appreciation he took me to get a psychic reading. This was no ordinary storefront palm reader, he goes to a bookshop in the valley where in the same trip you can replace your deck of Tarot cards, stock up on Devil's Shoestring and Dragon's Blood, take a meditation course, and get a reading from one of 40 psychics. From a catalog of videos on the bookshop's website, I chose Forest (a pychic) to read my cards. In the days leading up to this point, I had undergone some big changes. I was faced with the realization that I needed to end some realtionships, and work was among them. When Forest asked if I had any questions, I asked if I should take this opportunity to move to New York or Madrid, or maybe Paris (all on my bucket list). Forest predicted that I would find the right job in LA at the end of the summer (among other predictions), warning me that I would have some "oh shit!" moments along the way, but she advised me to stay calm and enjoy the whole summer off. She also said something about my moon in the house of some... thing?

So here we are, a few "oh shit!" moments later, the end of summer approaching, and a few days ago I received a phone call with a job offer that is all too perfect. I'll be working at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. A three month hiatus was SO, so nice and much needed but I am stoked to be working at the SLS, especially because I get paid to be on Facebook and Twitter.

Eat, Pray, Luau

I've been spending my weekdays hanging out with a 6 month old and a 7 month old. I have a couple of friends who live in the same apartment community and each have puppies: Duggie, a 6 month old golden retriever, and Milly, a 7 month old dachsund/beagle. Duggie and Milly spend the day play-fighting, requiring very little from me. I'm basically that guy who walks them when they need to go for potty breaks.

Between potty breaks, I surf the web, listen to NPR, lay out at the uber-posh pool with the neighbors (all actors, who don't seem to be working on anything at that moment), or lately, reading "Eat, Pray, Love". After Duggie and Milly himbo-sit me, I hang with their owners, Chandler and Monica. I spend so much time there that Chandler invites me to the community events every other week (i.e. Pizza parties, fashion shows, wine and cheese nights). This week: full on luau with fire dancers and everything!

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Eat, Pray, Love" seems like an odd choice for a 27 year old guy. It was recommended to me by a couple of (girl) friends but not knowing much about it, I disregarded it because it sounded like a baby shower at the pink house on the corner of Estrogen Avenue and Lilith Fair Lane. Well, I'm at Monica's the other day and I see a stack of books, at the top of that stack, staring me in the face: Eat, Pray, Love. I figured I'd skim through the first page just so that I am sure it's not for me, but before I realized it I was a third of the way through the book.

I have to admit, I am REALLY enjoying it. It's split up into 3 sections:

1. Eat
2. Pray
3. Love.

The author goes to Italy for four months to try to remember how to experience pleasure, by eating her way through Rome (-- um... yum! Sign me up). Then, India for another four months in search of God, meditating her way to divinity. Thirdly (the part I'm about to finish), in order to find balance in her life, she spends yet another 4 months with a medicine man/artist in Bali.

The book found me at just the right time, I have nothing but free time these days, which I am so incredibly thankful for, so I have time now to think about stuff like spirituality, work/life balance, happiness, love. Not knowing anything about the book, it seems like I was already on my own Eat, Pray, Love journey. Well, certainly the 'Eat' and the 'Pray' aspects. I'm cooking a lot these days, last week I learned how to make Mexican rice and refried beans. I am adding meditation and yoga to the mix, which will help on the spirituality front (or, so I've read). I don't think I'm capable of throwing mysef at 'Love' just yet though. Balance: si. Love: never really been one of my strong points. But I'm hoping that with 'Eat' and 'Pray', comes Love. Or maybe I'll just attack it later, so for now, I'm funna Eat, Pray, Luau.

Midnight Train To Nostalgia

I try to live in the present as much as possible these days, but today I find myself on a midday train to nostalgia. La Sandy, one of my closest friends, is celebrating her birthday. She wanted to take it back to the good ol' days, our rockero days, when we used to drive to Carlos O'Briens in (don't judge...) San Bernardino and wear Dickies jackets and listen to The Smiths and Moenia. Our tight-knit group is now dispersed, but we're gonna come together at some characteristically shady town, and allow ourseves a flashback to the late 90s/early 2000s, our high school/post-high school glory days.

Locale has hardly changed, I'm expected to go to Club Ritual @ Spike's in Bellflower. My initial thought: "Umm... No thanks". When expressed my concerns about driving in Bellflower to La Sandy, she suggested a take a train. In other words, I'd be leavin' on a midnight train to Bellflower. Pretend single-tear down the left cheek. No doubt it'll be fun, I always end up having the time of my life when I get together with my old friends.

Now I must figure out what to wear... I don't have Dickies anymore.

Hi guys & dolls! It's been a while again. I've been busy starting over. In a previous post I talked about wanting to move to LA, so I finally did it! Now I work at a hotel on the Sunset Strip called the Mondrian, this place is crazy-cool and the bar (skybar) is pretty infamous! I pinch myself everyday, it's unreal. I moved into a brand new condo, also on Sunset, right down the way. You know, when I was moving into my studio the last time, I was really nervous about it, but it turned out to be really cool and convenient to have everything in one room. Now I will have to get used to a big space with lots of walls lol!

My first day in LA I went for a walk, I ended up in Beverly Hills, from my place Hollywood. One of the many perks of my new surroundings is that I live a few blocks from Runyon Canyon, the views of LA are amazing! And I saw Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku the last time I hiked it.

This weekend I was walking down Sunset Boulevard, checkin' out my new hood, passed by the Chateau Marmont and couldn't resist, so I sneaked in. Haha! I felt like a spy.

Everything's been great, I feel like I made the right decision by coming here. I was really bored in OC. But I freakin' miss my Bon Don and the Kewl Kidz so much! Bon Don told me she's gonna pick me up next weekend, we're gonna go on a date and then cuddle the rest of the weekend. I can't wait!

The weather has been crazy though, I have cold right now, and last weekend, I had tonsillitis AGAIN! I'm a little nervous about this flu season and swine-flu, I've become a germaphobe.

Hahaa... I'm back, bitches. I know, right, I fell off the face of the Earth for a while. It's ironic 'cause I didn't stop blogging for lack of blog worthy material, rather, 'cause I've actually had LOTS going on... didn't find the time to blog. I've been processing some thangs, lots of self reflection, lots of logisitical planning and working out a strategy for my future.

I've been driving my little beamer around again. It sat parked for three years; it's so liberating to drive again. I've been spending a little time in L.A. and I realized I was born to live there.

I've spent the past two months sick with tonsillitis, 3 times to be exact. I've gotten to know my doctor really well. I finally got some pharmaceuticals to help me fall asleep, she gave me tranquilizers [wee!], but she also took me off of coffee, I almost cut her when she told me but then I realized she wouldn't be able to refill my tranqs if I did that.

A few weeks ago, The Don's and I went to Long Beach Pride, I'd never been to one before, we had a great time. We even met up with Gabby from Gabby She Wrote, and Baxter. Bon Don has been promising to send me pix but she still has yet to send them to me. As soon as she does, I'll post some.

Last Sunday, Bon Don and I took an empromptu trip to Belmont Shore, I'd never been there, it was cute. We had dinner at the uber-luxurious La Creperie, loved that place!

Lately, I've been addicted to Chelsie Lately, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and of course.... wait for it.... wait for it.... SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! Okay, so far I have a few faves, I love Asuka Kondoh (and she's from The OC [Irvine]), Jonathan Platero, Jason Glover and Janette Manrara. Although they're all pretty good this season. The last dance of the night, a samba, was muy CALIENTE!!

I have a busy weekend ahead of me, I'm actually sorta nervous. I'm going back to The Tundra for my friends wedding, We went to prom together, and haven't spoken in years but she's way awesome. I'm stoked she's tying the knot. I'll probably see lots of peeps I haven't seen in over 5 years. Yikes!! Then from there, I'm headed directly to Palm Springs to another old friend's graduation party. She's a nurse graduating from The College of the Desert. I'm so proud of her because she's had to work 10 times harder than anyone else and she's done it all on her own. She's a rock*. Sunday night, I'll have to drive all the way back to The OC from PS and work on Monday... oy! But I'll manage.

Have Your SCUBA Gear Ready, Himbo's Goin Deep

I'm feeling much better today, thank god! It's been a really tough couple of weeks. You know how they say: when it rains, it pours. Lately, it has for me but life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain. I'm still learning to dance in the rain but I'm making progress.

Well, it turns out I have tonsillitis and 2 ear infections (<--correction to my last post), the pain was so intense, my doctor prescribed another drug to help with pain and swelling on top of the antibiotics that I'm already taking. It made a world of difference. But I think the biggest improvement was a result of spending all afternoon with Bon Don and company, and crashing at her house. I really don't know what I would do without my Bon Don. Lacking sleep; sunlight; food ('cause I couldn't swallow anything); and human interaction, I was starting to lose my mind in my tiny studio apartment. Going over to Bon Don's and being around amazing people, and getting taken care of was nice. Confined to my bed, I had plenty of time alone with my thoughts. Intense stuff... It wasn't fun but I realized a lot in the process. One major revelation: in the past year I've grown a tad disconnected, even from most of my closest friends. It took a huge event for me to see that I redirected all of my focus to one place. I'm still pretty young in this life, still got a lot to learn, and I realized that I can't regret anything because I've grown as a result of each experience, yet I couldn't help but feel sad and guilty.

In the end, I gained a newfound appreciation for everything around me. As you can tell, I'm very introspective these days and I'm finding that being alone with my thoughts is difficult but I will persevere.

Another Funny Story

Well, not really. I haven't been to work in nearly two weeks. Saturday, I helped my best friend move to L.A which totally sucked cause he's really cool and I'm gonna miss him a lot, but at least he'll be close enough to visit. I took that following week off cause my cousin and his friend came to visit me. I also had to handle some stuff in the Tundra... long story short, my drivers license has been reinstated which makes me incredibly happy. I got sick while I was in the Tundra, I thought it would go away on it's own but it got really bad. My doctor found a throat infection and 2 ear infections... sad times. It sucked so bad but I'm on antibiotics, hopefully back to normal soon. Needless to say, I haven't had much energy to blog. I'm going to attempt to go to work tomorrow, hopefully I'll be well enough to make it. It'll be weird cause it'll be the first time since my friend moved (we both worked @ The Hotel). I've been mostly bed ridden. It sucked, nothing good was on tv. Boredom is no fun. So anyway, sorry for not posting, expect to hear more from me soon.

If I Could Turn Back Time...

So, Endless Summer turned out to be awesome, I also got 3 others in that batch, Billy Wilder Speaks, Goodbye, Norma Jean and And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story.

Billy Wilder Speaks was a snooze-fest! I am a huge fan of Wilder but this film did absolutely nothing for me. If I could turn back time... I wouldn't waste my time watching this.

Goodbye, Norma Jean was BIZARRE! I actually hated it. HATED IT! It's from 1976 so I prepared myself for it but there is just no amount of preparation that can help, everything about it screams 70's.

The music... atrocious, it sounded like porn music. But watching a porno lacking nudity and sex would still be better than Goodbye, Norma Jean.

There was tons of unnecessary nudity. Normally that's a good thing but this was just bad. And the characters used some pretty interesting language. They'd use words like "Cock", "Blow Job", "Fuck", and it sounded forced.

The actress suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. She had the most annoying mouth! Every time she opened her mouth she'd show every single tooth. That bite was nasty, I'm sorry. And she sounded fucking retarded ...Train wreck.

But the most offensive part was the disclaimer in the beginning of the movie, it basically states that everything in the film is true. Well, boys and girls, hate to break it to ya but that was a big-fat-enormous-HUGE-gigantic-lie. Everything like her hair color, her first hubby, actual events... I don't even know where to start... nothing about the movie actually happened the way it was portrayed in this mess of a film. Total failure!

And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story was a movie I had seen a loooong time ago but it was probably about 10 years ago so I queued it. WOW! The Actress who plays Cher really got the character down! She was perfect. Every nuance and mannerism was spot on. And the look... flawless. I totally thought I was watching Cher. She was the best part of the movie but it was a good find. I loved it.

The Endless Summer

A few months ago my friend suggested a film called The Endless Summer. He spoke highly of it so I like "Eh... okay fine I'll queue it", and forgot about it. It sat all alone, all quiet at the end of my Netflix queue, then finally it arrived at Chateau Himbo this weekend. But people, let me tell you, I was not prepared for the level of awesomeness that slapped me in the face! Not to worry, it didn't mess up my hair.

So, I read the blurb on the little envelope that it comes in and it says it's a documentary. Now, don't get me wrong cause I love documentaries, yes I am a huge nerd, HUGE, but I wasn't really in the mood for one. Then I noticed that it's from 1966! I was like "Woah woah woah woah... hmmm..." I don't know if I'm up for this. I read on and "filmed in Hawaii, Australia, Africa and Tahiti" caught me eye, so I'm like, "Okay that might be cool". Read a little more and "[...]strengthening their friendship and teaching natives along the way", I'm thinkin' "Hmmm... this could get interesting". So I figured let's get it out of the way, if it sucks I'll return it today.

You know how everything that's old starts with a really loooooong prologue with boring music? Well this had one, I nearly ended that "Endless Summer", but I was distracted by a shiny object and it started before I was done looking at the shiny object (it was a mirror. Shh... don't tell anyone). It started out sorta cool, the narrator sounded young and seemed really funny. It was very intriguing 'cause it had a 'reality tv' feel... you know, scripted but pretending not to be. It also reminded me of those really old black and white Disney shows. It kept getting better and better as it went on. It was so trippy... it did a great job of placing you in the 60's and making you understand exactly what it was like back then, the surf scene was just becoming.

The Don's came over half way through and finished watching it with me. We all loved it, laughing our arses off. Apparently BDC had watched it when he was 15 and remembered the whole thing. He's a cray-cray.

So, my friend tells me that there's a sequel [The Endless Summer II] and that I need to watch it. It's next in queue :D There's a third one called The Endless Summer Revisited, it's a little different but I'm such a fan now that I'll need to see that too. I went back to Netflix and rated Endless Summer, 5 stars. Take my advice go watch it and tell me what you think.

Loca, what's with the Blue Monday? Is it just me or has today been the lamest day EVER? It's cold outside, not very sunny at all, the vibe in the office is bleugh. My favorite has to be Nina Flowers, she is a fierce Puerto Rican with tons of tude! The girl is HILARIOUS!!!! She has a really thick accent and calls everyone "loca" which means crazy girl in Espanol. Loca, her English isn't all that great and reading from a queue card proved to be a challenge for her, loca.

In episode 3, the drag queens were asked to use Oprah as inspiration and interview Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. Well loca, Mz Flowers was up and the queue card read:

How Do You Sleep?

I've been having a little trouble sleeping lately, I get like that sometimes. I decided to get a few things today, to help me sleep but I didn't realize it was gonna cost me $60!

Taking a hot shower right before bed helps me sleep, and there's this amazing cream I use that makes my skin feel so soft whch adds to my ability to fall asleep quicker. So, super, amazing, luxurious, makes-my-skin-silky-smooth-and-delicious cream... check.

The scent of lavender helps me sleep, and I LOVE the smell of lavender, so I got some lavender electric plugins to place near my bed, and a lavender scented spray for my sheets and pillows. Luxurious Lavender smelly stuff... check.

Chamomile tea... check

Mint tea... check

Lifescapes "Sleep" CD... check.

How does that add up to $60?? I should just start drinking red wine right before bed, red wine always makes me super sleepy! Whatevs, I'm gonna go shower, lather up, drink tea, smell the flowers and listen to soothing sounds now. G-night.

Project Luxurious Update

FINALLY... My new mattress was delivered this morning! I went to work today but came back home after running a few reports, because I'm not feeling very well. Bon Don force fed me meat the night before last and my poor little tummy has been so mad at me. Well, it's mad at Bon Don 'cause it's all her fault. I haven't eaten meat in over a year but I've decided to reintroduce meat into my diet, just not full time, I'll be a part time carnivore. I had dinner with The Don's the other night and Bon Don ordered Won Ton Nachos, which have shredded pork sprinkled on top. I seriously only had like a quarter serving of the pork yet my stomach's been upset ever since.

So I came home today at noon and put my bed together so I could lie on it. It's so luxurious! I don't even know what to do with myself right now. Actually, I'm gonna lie down and take nap but Bon Don made me post some pix so she can see from work, so without further adieu:

By Your Side... I Get No Sleep!

I'm having a hard time falling asleep. My creative juices were a flowin and I haven't been able to turn it off. It started this afternoon when I went to Target to pickup some tools I needed in order to continue on with Project Luxurious. I really only intended to get olive oil and a staple gun but I ended up spending over $100. I got a level which turned out to be quite handy... I have vertigo therefore not the best at eyeballing stuff for accuracy. I stumbled on a few t-shirts and the movie Australia, cause I needed something to watch while I decorated. AND... I really love that movie. So I was in bed trying to sleep but I couldn't get Sade's By Your Side out of my head. I just discovered Sade, apparently I have been hiding under a rock. Bon Don played it for me a couple of weeks ago and I have been meaning to add it to my playlist, but hadn't gotten around to it. I won't be able to sleep all night if I didn't get up immediately and find the song. Now I'm just sitting here listening to it.

Btw, did anyone catch Bros & Sissies Tonight? T'was pretty good! So much drama, it reminds me of my family.

My life is starting to seem to piece back together :D I'm living in my apartment again, I finally have my new furniture, my new mattress is on the way, AND... I'm catching up on American Idol! as well as the rest of my DVR lineup. As I caught up on AI! I thought to myself, "Man, Himbo... the contestants suck this year!", then I thought, maybe AI! producers are trying a new sound system and it's making everyone sound horrendous. But then I remembered Allison Iraheta's performance of Heart's "Alone" last week and I'm sorry but she ROCKED IT so the others have no excuse. Allison's performance was so good that I downloaded it on itunes, which I've never done before. As far as I'm concerned, Allison's in a league of her own... the rest are just around until she wins.

So this week was good in terms of discovering good new music. Here's the short list:

Duuuuude! I know... the frequency of my blog posts have dwindled down to a pathetic rate. I am neck deep... nay! I am up to my eye brows, immersed in Project Luxurious.

What is Project Luxurious, you say?

PL is the pop-culture reference to the rebeautifcation process of my apartment.

Let me back track a little... when I got back from Himbolicious Birthversary Spectacular! I came home to a gazillion ants. Immediately, I had my staff (lol... my staff. Who am I kidding?) address the catastrophe at hand. Btw, "immediately" is a himboism for "like 2 weeks, or so". Anyways, I stayed at Bon Don's for like a month cause Himbolicious was not about to get his hair undid by a bunch of bugs... mmkay! Turns out the ants thing was a way bigger thing than I imagined and I had to basically move my entire apartment into the middle of the livingroom, so that the exterminator could come and spray the shit out of Chateu Himbo. Bon Don helped me do all this nonsense. HOWEVER... when you get Bon Don and Himbo in a room together, bad shit's bound to happen. Well, Bon Don convinced me to chuck my bed and couch, so I could get new ones. In the trash went the bed and couch and Himbo had to live with Bon Don and BDC until he wasn't afraid to go home anymore. It ended up being a much bigger project than I had ever envisioned but i"m nearly done and I can't wait.

So you see kids, I haven't been ignoring you. I've just been preoccupied... consumed with PL.

P.S. I may or may not be drunk as a skunk right now... but that's beside the point. However, any gramatical errors are to be blamed on the alcohol consumption.

Am I the only one completely over the rain? And the freezing cold weather? ...So unneccesary. As Cher Horowitz ever so eloquently put it, "AS IF! [...] this is California, not Kentucky". This crazy weather has got me a little moody, I find myself getting worked up over small stuff. Anyway, I haven't been posting very frequently lately, mostly because I have been staying over at Bon Don and BDC's house, I end up having way too much fun with them and never get around to blogging. I have to go home pretty soon because I plan on getting a new bed tomorrow, and maybe a chaise for my apartment, so I'll need to go rearrange my place, and all that jazz. I've also been spending time at the gym, going to a kewl new class called Rowbics. Everything hurts right now, I'm all sore.

I am absolutely bananas over the Five-Cheese Quesadilla with Shrimp and Green Tomatillo Sauce. It's sooooo good! That green tomatillo sauce is out of this world. Scheiße! I know, I know... I've been M.I.A. a while [insert gunshot sounds here]. I deserve a spanking, or 26, but I'd really enjoy that... make sure you put your back into it.

a few weekends ago I celebrated my birthday, which went down in history as "Himbolicious Birthversary Spectacular!". It was amazing, the night lived up to the name. I got a couple of free rooms at "The Bev" (a hotel in Beverly Hills), one of which was upgraded to a suite. After we checked in, we walked to our suite in the Oasis tower, and ran into Justin Long, turns out the cast from "He's just not that into you" was at The Bev for a press junket. Stripper_D and The Lindz allegedly "borrowed" a makeup chair from the makeup room which was near mine. While the ladies got ready, Andy, BDC and I headed downstairs for a drink at Trader Vic's Lounge, I felt like such a rock*. It's a luxurious polinesian lounge where you can find the best drinks on the mainland. Then we all met up in the suite, everyone brought alcohol - we had champagne, wine, vodka, tequila, and I can't remember what else. After getting nice and shitfaced, we cabbed it 2 miles down Santa Monica Blvd. to run amuck in WeHo, at The Abbey.

The Abbey was effin' groovy! I got to take a picture with drag queens! Bon Don and BDC were also celebrating their anniversary so they headed back to the hotel... Mmmkay! By the time we headed back to The Bev to polish off the rest of the alcohol, only the hardcore porn*'s... I mean, rock*'s were left, Stripper_D, The Lindz, Andy and yours truly. On the cab ride back, Stripper_D allegedly stole a piece of a sign which was glued to the cab door - fucken klepto! She was in the backseat (as usual), when all of a sudden we heard this loud snap, everyone turned to her and she blurts out "I fell"! Umm... she was sitting down in a cab, but we were all too drunk to think it through. It wasn't until we got out of the cab that she showed us the merchandise... allegedly.

The next day we had breakfast at Bossa Nova and then headed back home to The OC, but enough about Himbolicious Birthversary Spectacular! (HBS!), cut to today, I haven't been home since the landmark event because my place is such a disaster you'd be required to wear a hard hat to be inside. So instead I've been crashing at The Don's, they Spoil me rotten. I've also been crazy busy at work... and truth be told, every weekend since HBS! I've enjoyed some libations causing your Uncle Himbo to be hung, thus unable to handle business @ Chateu Himbo. Priorities people. I have them.

Love in an Elevator

It's 5:13am and I just got home. Today is The Gules 26th birthday so we went to Huntington Beach, to a place called Black Bull, which turned out to be really fun! I'm still sick, but I mustered up the energy to get ready and go. I wasn't planning on drinking tonight because I drank to much @ Stripper_D's birthday recently, and being sick doesn't help. Mel lives in HB so we met up @ her house. She offered a me a shot of tequila but I was like "err... nah... I'm not drinking tonight, Mel". But before I could sit down she had poured me a huge glass of wine, while her and Indy took down the Jose Cuervo. I guess "I'm not drinking tonight", means "I'll pass on the tequila and have a wine instead" at casa de Mel. As Mel is handing me my drink, we realized we had to leave. Well... everyone knows, you can't let good wine go to waste, it's one of the ten commandments: Thow shall not waste the blood of christ aka wine, so I did what any decent person would do, and chugged it. I got a buzz real fast and it didn't go away all night.

Black Bull has a mechanical bull, I almost got on but my hair is way to luxurious to mess up.

Everyone was pretty shitfaced. A certain birthday girl started tossing her cookies. She ran to the men's restroom cause the chicks bathroom was way busy. She puked all over the place. Security came and escorted our entire group out. @ this point we call it a night and head for home.

Janda couldn't make it to the festivities tonight because she had to work, but she called as we are driving up to my gate and wants me and Indy to go meet her at The Hotel because she's wrapping up The NAMM Show [one of the biggest conventions The OC will host this year], and she wants to have dinner. Indy and I are down for anything, so we meet up with Janda @ The Hotel. Himbo and Indy get to The Hotel; we're waiting for the elevator; the door opens and a girl is giving a guy a BJ! I laughed and got in the elevator, Indy walks in behind me and sees what's happening and nonchalantly says, "Oh no no children, we will be having none of that here. Not in the elevator, go to your room and do that". I couldn't stop laughing, it was the most awkward elevator ride I have ever taken.

I've been a little under the weather today; tonsils are swollen and throat's sore AGAIN. Can someone remind mother nature that it's January and not August, please? It's actually gorgeous outside so I shouldn't complain but my body is in total panic because it knows it's January, it prepared for a cold winter, but mother nature's like, "Just kidding... take that you giant". She's a trickster that mother nature she is. My electric bill is sure to be higher, I've had the AC on since the weekend.

I was hungry when I got home today, and lately I've been on this Mexican food kick [just tryin to get in touch with my roots mmmkay]. Bon Don came over for a couple of cooking lessons; one day we made frijoles de la hoya and another day Spanish rice. Isn't it ironic, don't you think[?], that Bon Don isn't Mexican, she's Apache [watch out for that bitch, she'll scalp ya if you cross her]. I made Soyrizo con huevos, today [sans Bon Don, she ditched me]. Yes, Soyrizo not chorizo. I stopped eating meat last year. I saw the Soyrizo and decided to give it a try. It's actually really good, in fact better than the real thing. I couldn't tell that I was eating soy instead of pork lips, lymph nodes, and salivary glands [wikipedia that shit! Don't worry, I'll wait].

I'm hoping that I'll feel better tomorrow because it's been super busy @ work. As I've mentioned a couple of times recently, I work for 3 hotels now, instead of 1. My department is called RevMax, by industry folk. My company decided to eliminate the RevMax depts at all of the hotels in one of the smaller hotel-chains, and make the teams @ the larger chain take on the smaller hotels that were left orphaned. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining... glad I got to keep my job, just sayin.

Busting a Dar

It's January and I have had my AC on for two days. What. is. the. deal? I guess it's better than being in the freezing cold, like a few of my Canadian friends whose blogs I've been reading. Does anyone know what a furnace is?

Well, nothing can really get me down right now, American Idol! is on. Except for this...

My sister called a few minutes ago and busted a Dar on me.

What is "busting a Dar", you ask? A kill-joy, a buzz-kill, more specifically when a person brings the mood down, depressing an entire crowd. Much like Bon Don's cousin, Dar who is notorious for doing just that, like every five minutes.

For example:

Himbo: I am having such a luxurious hair day, I am so happy.

Dar: Did you hear that some mother in Kansas killed her 5 children, gave them bad haircuts and then jumped off a freeway overpass on uncoming traffic and a semi ran her over, resulting in her death?

Himbo: I'm going to sleep, wake me up when September ends.

My sis, we'll call her "The Rose", calls me a few minutes ago. The conversation went a little something like this:

The Rose: Hey did you read about the guy that got runover on the 10 freeway in Palm Springs this weekend?

Himbo: No. Why would [interrupted again, by The Rose]

The Rose: Well, I went to Palm Springs to celebrate my friends bday this weekend, with some friends and our cousins. We got a suite to crash after the club. Part of the group went out to eat. Then one of the girls got a call, it was her BF who was with the group who went out to eat. He decides to walk back to the hotel and gets hurt so he calls his GF all disoriented, asking for someone to pick him up. They coudn't find him and I decided to drive home because I couldn't sleep with all the drama in the suite. We were driving home and a bunch of cops blocked 4 lanes; there was a dead body on the freeway. Later my friend called me and told me the dead body was the lost guy, he wondered on to the freeway and got hit by 4 cars.

Himbo: OMG!

The Rose: I know! It was so weird, we were hanging out with him all night. He was really cool. I can't get that whole night outta my head.

Himbo: I'm going to sleep, wake me up when September ends.

The Rose: Okay but first make sure you get me the rooms for next month.

I just realized I busted a Dar on ya. My baaad.

The cool kids ditched me today. No one wants to watch AI! Rudes. Can someone explain why Ryan Seacrest tried to high five the blind guy? Srsly?! What a fucken stupid bitch.

Funny story: Bon Don and BDC came over tonight. Bon Don showed me how to make Spanish rice and she wanted to watch Another Gay Sequel. It was hilarious. Bon Don loves the gays, she's really a gay man trapped in a supermodel's body. After watching this scene [below] she busted up laughing and said I was Himbo the Merman 'cause in real life my hair is so luxurious that it does the same thing as Stan the Merman's [play video and see what I'm talking about].

Sidenote: Nico's hair is NOT luxurious!

The Don's just left. It's so windy outside. First an earthquake and now the Santa Ana Winds. My nose is on fire from the dryness brought on by the wind. But you know what? None of that matters 'cause guess what's back? American Idol! Woo hoo! I just found out two second ago. That makes me happy, that means the cool kids are going to be coming over on a regular basis and you'll be hearing about more of those fantabulous [infamous] Himbo parties. BDC is dying for SYTYCD, almost BDC, almost. Summer will be here before you know it, son.

It's Sunday and I'm recovering from a gnarly hangover. Last night was Stripper_D's birthday bash, we kicked it old school at her house. There was a DJ in the backyard, red plastic cups and a beer bong, needless to say we had a great time :) Stripper_D is the youngest of cool kids, she turned 22 [Ugh...I know! Stupid betch!] Her friends made us feel old, although those crazy kids were fun to watch. It's been a while since I've kicked it old school and forgot just how much those red cups can hold, I had way too much vodka+fruit punch and tossed my cookies when I got home. It was pretty painful.

I was in bed when Bon Don and BDC called me @ noon today, they wanted to have brunch. I needed food, and hungover or not, Himbo is not in the business of turning down food or good company. A three and half hour brunch was just the remedy, I felt so much better afterwards, but I had to forgo the mimosas. Sad day.

I spent the rest of the day lounging around my apartment, watching tv and movies. I just got the new Linkin Park CD+DVD called Road to Revolution. It's a live performance of their Projekt Revolution tour, in it they take a song [Pushing Me Away] and rework it from the original hard hitting rock style to a slower arena-rock version. I watched it like 500 times, it's SOOOO good. Seriously. I also caught up on Bros & Sissies and the season premiere of Nip/Tuck, which btw looks very promising.

Unfortunately I haven't had the same amount of free time to keep up with the blogosphere, or even post during the week. I've noticed other blogger buddies are experiencing the same thing. And my workload is continuing to grow; tomorrow my department will take on 2 more hotels.

Oh btw, did anyone else feel the earthquake on Thursday? It's the first quake in my new apartment. The whole place shook like crazy, but I thought it was just my neighbors doing the dirty again.

A Star is Born!

No no, not me. I was born 25... OMG almost 26!.. years ago [insert nervous laugh here], but I pursuaded my dear friend Brenda to start her very own blog [insert applaus here]! If you're a follower, you'll recall, prior to moving to The OC, I lived in a town I call The Tundra. That's where Bren lives, but the best part, she named her blog Musing from The Tundra. Dude, how cool is that?! It's like a spin-off! Not a failed s/o like Saved by the Bell: The College Years, but rather, a succesful s/o like Melrose Place.

Anyway, she's a doll, go check her out, I predict a bloggy award in her future.

Sidenote: My bloody neighbors [upsatirs] are so EFFING loud! Earlier they were doing the dirty, now they are just makin all kinds of unnecessary noise! Yes, neighbors I have a non-existent sexlife unlike you, thanks for rubbing it in. Bitches.

I stayed home stayed home today because I had a sore throat :( Instead fo going to work, I stayed in my PJ's all day and drank Throat Coat tea, watched Transformers, then Moulin Rouge like three times. Okay four. Okay five. Transformers is so funny, I catch new hidden jokes and double entendres everytime I watch it again. I always sing along to Linkin Park's "What I've Done" when it's playing in the movie. Moulin Rouge is just quite simply the best movie of all time. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but you get my drift.

Alright well, I'm off to see the wizard, err... watch Bros & Sissies then hit the hay so I can go to work tomorrow.

Oh shit! That reminds me; I'm carpooling with Bon Don tomorrow... accompanying her for moral support because she has to clock-in, in the ghetto, with the peasants now LOL LOL LOL! Let me clarify, us luxurious folk clock-in @ a convenient location on our way to our offices. The peasants [stuards, restaurant servers, housekeepers, etc.] all clock-in on the other side of the building, near the kitchen. Poor Bon Don has to temporarily clock-in @ the ghetto because her id isn't working on our side, so being the good friend that I am, I'm gonna hold her hand [while pointing and laughing at her] as we walk through the ghetto and try not to get our suits dirty, fending off the peasants. Alright I'm kidding with the peasant talk, some of my favorite people in the entire hotel are housekeepers, I just make fun because it makes Bon Don laugh. And for the record, I'm the most ghettofied person in the entire hotel. Don't hate.

4 Day Weekends Are Such a CT

Sup, party people? Ugh, sorry, that was so douchebaggy of me! We have lots of catching up to do. NYE was awesome, I spent it @ Bon Don & BDC's house, They live like a mile down the road from me and they're my favorite people in the world. Bon Don and I took it like champs and drank wine while everyone else drank beer [I know, ew!], after killing 2 bottles, we went after the champagne [I know, totally luxurious!]. We were all pretty shitfaced, and Blue [Bon Don's Cujo-esque Chihuahua] was attacking Bon Don's family who was visiting, but we were all so drunk we thought it was hilarious. I got molested multiple times while at The Don's*, but I'm used to it because I have that effect on people. I sorta fell asleep on the couch at some point after midnight, but I hadn't eaten anything and I drank a lot; I think I got all hypoglycemic or something. Someone has pictures that I need to get a hold of...

Friday night I had dinner with some friends and had a wonderful time, I felt *really* good afterwards; I slept really well that night.

Saturday, I went with Bon Don and BDC to a Mexican Market. You know, those grocery stores with a big cow on the roof. It was so fun! The last time I went to one of those was years ago with my grandparents. I was sorta tipsy because right before hooking up with The Don's, I had gone bowling [translation: I had gone drinking and occasionally threw a heavy ball across the room; not really aiming at anyone, I mean "anything"]. In dire need of fluids, I went to the bakery area for some agua fresca. I straight chugged it! I came home with the following fun items that you can't find anywhere else but a Mexican market:

I big huge concha; mexican sweet bread in the shape of a huge seashell.
Salsa Fresca; fresh homemade salsa.
Queso Fresco; fresh [Mexican style] cheese.
Corn and flower tortillas. The good kind, not Mission brand tortillas [<--white folk tortillas].
Beans, with dirt and all.

Bon Don convinced me to get beans; she said she'd come over and supervise me while I make them, because you see, I've never made beans before. We sorted beans, picking out frijoles that are not luxurious enought for our pot, sifting for rocks and such. Then we rinsed the frijoles and finally cooked them. it took 3 hours but it was worth it! They came out so delicioso!

On NYE, Dar and Sra. Fernandez (Bon Don's momma) said that I looked like Freddy Rodriguez who played Rico on Six Feet Under. I don't exactly see it... your thoughts?

Friday was our company holiday party, so I was busy getting shit faced.
Saturday I went to another holiday party with a friend, so I was very busy getting shit faced.
Sunday I packed for a trip I didn't end up taking, so I was busy getting shit faced.
Monday I worked and had to handle some last minute holiday ish... ugh!
Tuesday I worked and packed for my trip to The Tundra.
Wednesday - Friday I spent in The Tundra.
Saturday I recovered from my trip to The Tundra.

Long story short, my place was messy! No time to clean and plenty of reasons to tear it upside down.

Sunday, I finally decided to tidy up. It took all day (and I'm still not done) and I forgot to eat. Bon Don will attest to this, I get all hypoglycemic when I don't eat. So I ordered pizza because I was not feeling okay enough to make something. + I had enough points for a free pizza.

The pizza guy gets here and by this time I am trying not to pass out, he gives me the credit card slip to sign and I added a tip since he made the effort to come to my door rather than calling me to come outside to the gate. This is over and above the $2 they already impose upon me without asking. I didn't know what the hellz I was doing, I was all dizzy and stuff. I ended up tipping the guy $6! My order came to $3 with my free pizza!

To add salt to the wound, I think the guy was insulting me when I was writing in his 200% tip, I can't be certain because he was vietnamese and I didn't really understand what he said - but I'm pretty sure he was insulting the instructions I gave for him to find my place.

Oh well. I'm gonna watch "Under the Same Moon" and finish eating my pizza.

You know how I'm a blogebrity n stuff? Well, I'm not just a blogebrity anymore. In fact, I think Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture Edition is adding me to the 2009 release... yes, I think that's what one of my assistants was telling me yesterday.

You see, the hotel sponsored a pledge drive on KOCE. It was to support public broadcasting. You know... so Big Bird can keep that six figure salary.

Anyway, you know those people on PBS during Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman concerts, who answer calls and take your "pledge", then send you a "gift" as a token of "our appreciation" [oh wait, that last one didn't need quotations, did it?]? Yup... that was Himbo along with the cool kids (sans Bon Don, she didn't wanna go). The whole thing was really fun. I TiVo'd it and got some pix on my cell phone camera [guerrilla style, 'cause I'm avant-garde like that] just so I can show you! Err... I mean, I had one of my assistants TiVo the show and upload the pix, just so I can show you guys.

I'm gonna have to call Britney and see if I can borrow a couple of her bodyguards for a while. Maybe Kevin Costner will want to be my bodyguard, then Whitney Houston will come and sing "I Will Always Love You" to me.

A Tale of Two Maties

Gabby from Gabby She Wrote inspired me to tell the tale of how I met Bon Don. It's a luxurious tale indeed. Have tissue nearby. If you're like Narm, you might have wet wipes instead.

Follow me to place where incredible feats are routine every hour or so... Anaheimian niiiiiights. OOPS sorry! I went a little ADD on ya.

So anyway, I wasn't always this luxurious [humor me]. Before I moved to The OC, I lived in The Tundra, a tiny little town known for cows and farms n shit [Note: I did not grow up there, just lived there for a couple of years]. I worked at a call center, taking reservation for a hotel company. I couldn't wait to get the fuggoutta there, the smell of cow gave me a headache so the second I saw an opportunity, I transferred to a hotel. Bon Don happened to work at said hotel. She's worked there since... oh I dunno... 1872 or so.

My first year at the hotel, my office was on the first floor. Bon Don works in the basement [Haha they put her in the corner, where she belongs. You know, familiar territory]. Every Tuesday on my way to my weekly meeting in the basement, I walked by Bon Don's corner. She looked so nice and innocent [I know right?!]. I always smiled at her and she smiled back, usually we exchanged Hi's.

A year later, I transferred to the basement and saw a lot more of Bon Don. We ran into eachother in the Grapeslime, which is the employee cafeteria. She asked me if I transferred to the basement, then proceeded to give me the low down on EVERY THANG! She was like, "Don't be friends with this betch, her skin stinks mmkay, she don't take showers. And that other heiffer, uhuh, watch out for her. Don't sit on that side of the Grapeslime, that's where the peasants sit. Sit over here with us tomorrow". I was in love!

I came back everyday, Bon Don always had the 411. Dude, it's crazy, this woman knows everything! There's about 1,000 employees, she knows everybody's drama. And she's been there since before hotels had electricity or running water, so she knows all about the execs and the shenanigans they pulled prior to becoming execs.

So anyway, it was love at first sight, if you don't count that first year. And we've been inseparable ever since. Her hubby doesn't even mind.

Together, we've made people cry, quit, pee, move, see a therapist, attempt suicide, miscarry ...allegedly.

Did I mention cry?

We were never convicted.

I just watched High Fidelity and decided I needed to make a top 5 list of my own. Everybody and dey mama seems to be putting out a 'saddest songs of all time' list, so here we are. Although I have to change it up a bit, I need 15 spots rather than 5 and I can’t be responsible for deciding which song is sadder than the next… way too much pressure. Therefore, my list is in no particular order. Every song will equally make you want to slit your wrists or paint your nails black, smooth your hair over your face in a sideways fashion, avoid the sun like the plague and cry all day.

Getting to work on time everyday has been a little bit of a challenge lately. I’m on a modified schedule until the end of the year, so I start an hour later, which is at 9:30am. Let’s just say I don’t get to work right at 9:30am every morning, and leave it that. No need to get specific.

The article talks about some things you can do to change your natural circadian rhythm, which I have attempted, but its no work for Himbo, okay.

It’s okay, I have a solution. If you cant beat'em… move to Spain.

You see, the Spanish know wassup.

9:00am-ish: Wakeup and head to work, but not before stopping for breakfast, which is really just an espresso and maybe a pastry.

3:00pm-ish: SIESTA TIME! Take at least 3 hours for a looong lunch and A NAP.

…Dude!! That’s brilliant!

5:00pm-ish: (And not a minute sooner): Mosey on back to work and eventually close shop.

9:00pm rolls around: Eh… we should start thinking about dinner.

11:00pm-ish: Dinner time, which really means: go to a bunch of different bars and restaurants for tapas y vino!

1:00am-ish (optional): Party like a rockstar til 6 in the mornin!

Notice how Spanish time ends with “ish”. Nothing’s “sharp”. That’s how I roll.

I’m part Spanish; so I inherited my circadian rhythm. T'was passed down to me, t'sin in me genes. I need to remember that so I can tell my boss the next time I’m reminded of my official start time.

…or just move to Spain before I get fired.

Yes, although my dad has the same name, we were both named after my great grandfather. My great grandmother asked my mom if she would name me after her hubby. He used to be a cop waaay back in the day and was killed on the job.

Winter, but only in sunny Southern California because it’s not thaaat cold. I love winter wardrobe. The scarves, wool coats, sweaters, etc. Me loves it!

15. Do you have any special talents?
Besides having luxurious hair? I’m bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. I used to be very artistic, I was nominated into GATE school and attended for a couple of years. Weird ‘cause now I’m an Analyst… I look at data all day.

I couldn't resist! Had to post this shot. I hitched a ride home from work with Bon Don yesterday. We had a date, Bon Don was bringing din-din and I was hosting. The plan was to watch Six Feet Under but we were having so much fun, we never got around to it.

P.S. our parking structure is sorta awesome, it has views of Disneyland on one side, the Anaheim Convention Center on another side, and a city view on the third. Only half of the top floor (P5) is covered.

Btw, everyone who works at The Hotel, all 1,000 employees, know what Bon Don's car looks like. If they see her coming, they run for safety. During lunch, I always hear people talking about how fast she drives through the parking structure. Haters. They just mad 'cause they aint got her mad drivin' skillz.

Sometimes I get little reminders of how good I have it:

I live a couple of blocks from The Hotel so it only takes me about 15 minutes to walk home. In that short period, since we've switched back from daylight savings time, I have the privilege of experiencing sunset, everyday.

The weather has been just right, too. Cool but not cold, and since the latter part of last week we've been experiencing some mild Santa Ana's, carrying with them a sort of magical vibe.

Clock strikes 5, I unbutton my collar, loosen my tie, throw on my coat and turn on my iPod shuffle.

My route home is lined with trees coiled with little lights, on both sides of the boulevard.

Jealous? You should be :P

I know it might be overkill so I think this will be my last post about the election:

As mentioned in my last post, I registered via rockthevote.com, what I didn't mention is that I actually attempted to register via official government website but it didn't work!

P.S. government websites are archaic.

After a quick Google search, I came up on rockthevote and registered in like 5 minutes.

Today, I received this email message from "Heather":

Yesterday, more young people voted than have ever voted in American history. 24 million young voters.

I feel so good right now, overwhelmed with hope and optimism! The best candidate for President of the United States of America has just been elected into office. To think, just a couple of weeks ago I wasn’t registered to vote. Like many other Latinos, before this landmark election, I hadn’t yet registered to vote. It wasn’t until a couple of days before the deadline, when my friend asked me if I was registered, I answered “Nope, I never got around to it. Barack’s gonna get California anyway”. He wasn’t having any of that - so that night I went online to rockthevote.com and registered just in time.

I wasn’t sure if my registration got to its destination in time because I hadn’t received my voter information card, but yesterday I went straight for my mailbox and there it was, that beautiful yellow card with my name and voting location. I felt so relieved and privileged. Privileged, you see, because, Sunday, Reina_B and TALOM invited me to watch The Secret Life of Bees, I came along not really knowing what the movie was about but hey I’m always up for a movie. There’s a scene where Jennifer Hudson’s character gets beaten for attempting to register to vote. Right then it hit me, reminding me that the right to vote was something that many people fought for, some even died. Had I been alive at that time, I wouldn’t be allowed to vote because of my skin color.

Suddenly, I started paying attention to the campaign even though I pretty much knew I’d be voting for Barack. If I had any doubt before, it was all gone after watching his 30 minute commercial, I was left feeling compelled to get this man in that chair and let him do work.

Today, as I sat alone in my apartment, on the edge of my seat watching CNN, biting my nails and anxiously text messaging the same friend who pushed me to vote, a political analyst started analyzing the voter data. He stated that the two most influential segments to this election were young voters and Latino voters, both heavy with 1st time voters. This shook things up in some states; states that everyone had projected to go to McCain surprised everyone by going to Obama. That correlation is so incredibly vindicating because I’m a young voter, a Latino voter and a 1st time voter. It’s probably the first statistic that I am proud to be associated with, I’m so thankful for the kick in the ass that got me to vote. But I am even more proud of an America that was smart enough to chose the right person, for no reason other than being the best man for the job. I was left with no choice but to bust out the champagne.

To a better, brighter tomorrow... Cheers!

We got an early start for Bon Don's birthversary, last night a bunch of folks from the hotel went bowling, the food and drinks were hosted by a company that we partner with on groups/conventions. The cool kids stayed behind, after the event was over and took the after party to a club in the same complex as the bowling alley. Everyone was dancing, sept for me, I was busy looking luxurious all night... someone had to. At midnight we took a lemon drop shot to officially ring in Bon Don's birthversary.

Drinks were a'flowin all evening so I don't remember everything, but one thing I do recall was a girl with a cocktail that looked like milk walking through our area, then she tripped on something, it was like timber... the heifer went DOWN! Her cocktail broke all over the black marble floor, she landed spread eagle, lookin' all disoriented. It seemed as if it took her brain a minute to realize that she ate it because she sat there on the floor (spread eagle) until finally some dude helped her up, I acted like I didn't see it because I wouldn't have been able to stop laughing at her. I waited til she left, then all it took was one look from Bon Don and we were rolling! Dude, I'm still laughing, everyone in the club saw her fall. I'll post pix of from last night as soon as I get them from the people who brought cameras.

The celebration continues today (part deux), we decorated her desk at work, it's all bling'd out luxurious style. We attempted to come in early but she showed up in the middle of our decorating. It's all good, we needed her help anyway. We brought in goodies and had breakfast together and we presented her with her birthversary gift. This crazy braud tries to act like she's all hard and stuff, but she cried, what paninni! We got her the Ed Hardy boots she wanted. We're gonna take her out to lunch in a few minutes, to Corner Bakery for some Shantiful Paninni. After work, tonight, we're gonna meet up for drinks. It's like a worldwide event, it's bigger and longer than Mardi Gras, Hannukah and Lent, combined. That's how we roll... don't hate! Stay tuned for pix...

Wow! It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Friday, my boss decided to take our department on an outing, we spent the entire day at Universal Studios, it was exhausting but it turned out to be really fun! There are 4 of us, I have 2 bosses and a counterpart, and I have to admit that I’m glad I got to spend time with them outside of work.

Over the weekend I redid my bathroom, with Bon Don’s help – I love it so much I’d sleep in there if I could.

Today I had to run errands with Stripper_D, and was exhausted again. When I got home I turned the TV on hoping to catch a Spanish music series called Verdad y Fama, as I stripped down out of my suit and into shorts and a tee, I thought I heard women talking about BJ’s, I heard them say penis in Espaňol like 20 times so I walked over to the tv to investigate. They were giving tips on how to give a good BJ, which was enough to keep me from changing the channel. The show is called Kiu and is co-hosted by a sex-pert and a hilarious woman with a lot of experience when it comes to sex, in other words: a doctor and whore. I was strangely attracted to the show because it was so funny (the whore) yet informative (the doctor).

We Ho-in' in WeHo with Holly[wood] Madison

I had so much fun at AIDS Walk LA! At the opening ceremony, I got to see the three celebs I was hoping for: Rachel Griffiths, Holly Madison and Alan Cumming. After the race, we ran into Holly again, she was standing right outside The Abbey waiting for her limo, which by the way was Hef’s limo. I only point that out because Holly and Hef recently broke up. Holly was really nice and allowed us to take a picture with her. We had lunch across the street at Bossa Nova where we spotted Jackie from Work Out.

I was sorta tired the whole time because I only slept for an hour and half. You see, I took down a pot of coffee all by my lonesome, that’s why they call me Himbo. T’was horrible, my heart was beating so fast I thought I was gonna die. I wore my sunglasses all day to conceal my tired eyes but I ended up with a raccoon tan. Lol!

My employer (a hotel company) sponsored the event, world headquarters is in Beverly Hills which is where our corporate team is based. My office (Anaheim) joined forces with the corporate team and some other local hotels, to make a team for the walk. Anaheim totally represented, we had the biggest turnout, so the executive who spoke at the opening ceremony gave us a shout out and mentioned us specifically. I strongly believe that it was my celebrity status that made the executive single out Anaheim. You’re welcome.

I had planned to close my door and write and post a compelling blog about Sundays event . I arrived at work at 9:50am, and at by 9:51am I was tapping my inner arm asking people for a hit. It ended up being a busy day so I didn't have time to catch up on my blogs or write a Nobel Prize worthy posting.

Omw! I drank an entire pot of coffee (not exaggerating one bit, although I wish I was) earlier today because I couldn’t snap out of the lazy mood from watching Six feet Under all day, but instead of giving me a jolt, it fu*ken made me fall asleep again. Until I woke up an hour (or two) later, at which time I decided to re-read My Everyday Soap (Opera!) and Who is Mich ?, cut to me hours later and wired off my arse! Now I can’t sleep, and I have to get up early tomorrow morning to walk 10K (AIDS Walk LA). How the heck am I supposed to look all luxurious when I meet my fellow celebrities, with huge bags under my eyes? Como? Dime? No es posiblé? I guess I’ll have to be fantabulous in my big sunglasses.

All of this made me realize something about myself today, boys and girls: I am an addict.

1. Coffee, obviously. But it’s good for you and all of the cool kids do it, so... whatever.
2. Six Feet Under. Thanks Andy, it’s your fault, I’m sending you the bill from rehab.

I'll start with 6 miles this Sunday, for AIDS Walk Los Angeles, it should be really fun! The company I work for is sponsoring AIDS Walk L.A. so me and all of my peeps from work are gonna go to WeHo and represent, betches! If you go, look for me, I'll be the luxurious one with a buncha groupies hanging around me ;) just yell "Himbo!" every time you see someone who looks like they are probably famous.

Aside from the joy I get from spreading luxurious about LA, it's also a great cause, and you know me... I'm quite the humanitarian and philanthropist, I'm not satisfied unless I'm out saving the world... hee hee! Just kidding! The money raised form this walk will benefit organizations like AIDS Project Los Angeles (an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease; reducing the incidence of HIV infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy) and other local AIDS Service Organizations throughout LA County.

If you want to help me show up my colleagues, and make me look even more amazing than I already am (I know what you're thinking, impossible, but no, there's a tiny bit more room for amazingness)... and at the same time do something good for the world, donate whatever amount you want on my donation page. I will be stoked if you donate 5 bucks, but donate whatever you want!

Okay let's be honest, the only reason we're all going is for the chance to run into, errr... walk into the celebrities. Personally I wanna walk and hold hands with these celebs:

Rachel Griffiths, I Love her! She's the badass older sister on my favorite TV show, Brothers & Sisters, and she starred alongside Toni Collette in Muriel's Wedding. Coincidentally, today I am starting Six Feet Under, Rachel plays one of the leading roles.

Alan Cumming, hello... Romy & Michele's High School Reunion, it's like the best movie of all time... We might have to re-enact the dancing routine for our public.

Holly Madison from The Girls Next Door, we're gonna chat about her breakup with Hef. Hopefully she brings Kendra, I love that betch too!

Hopefully, they can get past my groupies and all the peasants trying to get my attention. It's so hard being a celebrity - I don't know why I do it, sometimes! It's cuz I'm a giver.

Six random things about me:

1. I have this very bad habit of correcting people, especially when it comes to mispronouncing words. It’s not intentional; it’s just too late by the time I realize that I have done it again. I would never be my own friend.

2. I need to know everything; I am like a sponge and retain lots of useless information. I watch the discovery channel and learn all about the animals, I look shit up on Wikipedia all day long. I listen to smart people… let them do all the talking, its like recon, I won’t speak until I am fully armed with plenty of information. Consequently, I like to know everything about my friends, if I feel like a friend is holding back, it bugs me and I lose sleep over it.

3. I do not pee in urinals. I’m a short guy, but as a young boy I was very short and couldn’t always reach the urinals, not to mention, at home we all use the toilette and I’m a creature of habit. I also remember my parent telling me not to use the urinals, when I was younger. It’s a habit I never lost, and now I can’t find a reason to want my own urine to splash back at me.

4. I can not stand it when people eat like pigs, I will get sick to my stomach and lose my appetite, and become extremely irate by that whole situation. You know those people who were raised on the farm and can’t eat without smacking their lips, the exhibitionists who want everyone to see every piece of food in their mouth, the people who get their dick beaters all over other people’s plates or food.

5. I can not see/watch, hear, or know that someone else is vomiting because it completely grosses me out. I will puke if I see someone else puke.

6. You know those florescent lights; usually found in everyone’s kitchen and most certainly in every office building in the world? Well, I hate ‘em! If there is a non-florescent (warm) lamp or light, use that. Florescent lights are so harsh, they make everyone look ugly, and they make everything look ugly. I will make it my personal mission in life to break every florescent light bulb in existence.

And for good measure, I’m gonna give you a bonus 7th quirk:
